Managing Principal & Founder

At the heart of the studio is Devin Kimmel, a dual-licensed architect and landscape architect whose work is defined by a rare, unified vision of the built and natural environments. A master of classical proportions and a dedicated student of architectural history, Devin views himself as "the pencil in the client's hand," translating personal aspirations into structures that feel both timeless and deeply rooted in their site. His leadership has earned him the title of Architect of the Year by the AIA Chesapeake Bay Chapter and recognition among the Forbes Top 200 American Residential Architects. Whether he is hand-sketching an intricate crown molding or planning a 40-acre estate garden, Devin’s holistic approach ensures that the architecture, landscape, and interiors speak with a single, harmonious voice.

We are students of history. When a site or client calls for a traditional — classical, farmhouse, colonial, shingle, or Tudor style — we know the disciplines and enjoy the process.

We are Experts in Waterfront Properties

Because we design many homes along the shores of the bay, we are acquainted with the critical area regulations that apply to waterfront properties. We designed an award-winning waterfront farmhouse and a popular bar taking into account the nature and rules of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.  You will find our designs throughout the country, both on the East Coast and the West Coast. Knowing tradition does not mean that we feel bound by it. The shape of this barn house draws from traditional rural buildings of the Chesapeake Bay area, but the glass wall is distinctly modern. We love blending tradition and modernity!
