To fit the aesthetic of the beach lifestyle boutique brand, the owners of Indigo Octopus wanted to create a space that was minimalist, Instagram friendly, and uniquely boho-chic. They were interested in renovating an existing commercial space within the Wildwood Shopping Center in Bethesda, MD that would create an Instagram friendly atmosphere.
To align with the boho-chic branding, the commercial buildout of the existing space required designing a white monochromatic interior scheme with highlights of Beachwood detailing, to connect the commercial space to the experience of a serene beach house retreat. White, exposed beams and custom inlaid, circular shelving alcoves and dressing room doorways were designed to perpetuate the unmistakable charm of a bohemian experience. Subtle pops of greenery and texture completed a minimalist design to inspire social media content.
