Tour an Eighteenth-Century Maryland Mansion From the Comfort of Your Own Home

Interested in touring an eighteenth-century house from the comfort of your own home? This interior 3D house tour allows you to do just that.

Kimmel Studio is the historic preservation architect of this colonial-era magnificent residence.

The original house was built at the beginning of the eighteenth century. Since then, it has undergone several transformations, including a renovation in the high Georgian fashion done toward the end of eighteenth century.

The restoration process of this colonial-era home is in its early stages. We are currently analyzing the house and the site with the help of a team of prestigious historians and archaeologists.

Preservation Process Steps

The first step in any preservation project is to analyze the building and grounds with the help of historians, archaeologists and dendrochronologists. Once the site is thoroughly investigated, we use our expertise with colonial and early American architecture to design historically appropriate features for the buildings and the gardens. We then work as a team with specialized artisans and craftsmen. Many times, the final step consists in opening the site to the public. Future generations can then experience history in person, by walking through its buildings and gardens.

Our team invests long hours on site documenting the precise dimensions of every room, the thickness of each wall, and the shape of every detail. In the photo, we are in a colonial Maryland residence built in 1705.
